BDI, BAI And Case Study on Mental Health Profile of Senior Secondary Teachers

Description

BAI (Beck Anxiety Inventory)

The Beck Anxiety Questionnaire (BAI) is a 21-question multiple-choice self-report inventory developed by Aaron T. Beck and colleagues for assessing the intensity of anxiety in children and adults. The questions in this test ask about typical anxiety symptoms that the respondent has experienced in the previous week (including the day you take it) (such as numbness and tingling, sweating not due to heat, and fear of the worst happening). It takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete and is intended for those who are 17 years old or older. The Beck Anxiety Inventory has been shown to be a reliable assessment of anxiety symptoms in children and adults in several studies.

The BAI was created with the goal of being “an inventory for evaluating clinical anxiety” with little overlap between depression and anxiety measures. While anxiety measures, such as the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), have been demonstrated to be significantly linked or indistinguishable from depression in numerous studies, the BAI has been proven to be less polluted by depressive content.

BDI (Beck Depression Inventory)

Aaron T. Beck’s Beck Depression Inventory (BDI, BDI-1A, BDI-II) is a 21-question multiple-choice self-report inventory that is one of the most frequently used psychometric tests for determining the severity of depression. Its discovery signalled a shift in mental health experts’ perspectives on depression, which had previously seen it as a psychodynamic problem rather than one founded in the patient’s own ideas.

The current version of the BDI-II is for people aged 13 and up, and it includes items that address symptoms of depression like hopelessness and irritability, as well as cognitions like guilt or feelings of being punished, and physical symptoms like fatigue, weight loss, and a lack of interest in sex.
