DEADDICTION THERAPY

DESCRIPTION

Addiction is viewed as a sickness or a choice by professionals. The illness model of addiction is one of the models used. The choice model of addiction is the second type. The addiction process, according to researchers, is similar to a disease model, with the brain as the target organ, some sort of malfunction, and illness symptoms. With a gene problem, a reward, memory, stress, and choice, addiction is similar to the choice model. Compulsive behaviour is the outcome of both theories.

Drug, alcohol, and smoking addictions are all examples of substance addictions. Gambling, spending, sexual activity, gaming, the internet, and eating are all examples of non-substance-related activities.

The earliest definition of addiction, according to psychologists, is a lack of self-control caused by anything with a rewarding impact that keeps you going back. The addicted party want to abstain, but they are unable to do so. Addicts are unable to control their activities. An addict is thought to be fighting their addiction and desiring sobriety and control over their behaviours.
